Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What’s the best time to have a photo session

I have found that the best time is approximately two hours before sunset which allows us to take advantage of what is referred to as the Golden Hour before the sun goes down.

This doesn’t mean that other times of the day won’t result in great photos because location can provide great opportunities for soft lighting.

How many pictures will I receive?

I will take between 800 and 1000 photos in a two hour session. I will then edit the photos and upload, to your gallery, all the photos I believe are great.

I find that a client usually receives approximately 60-150 photos.

How do I choose a location?

I believe that often the best location is one that has meaning to the person in the photo.

A location can give a photo another level of emotion by reminding the viewer of not just the person, when they were younger, but the memories associated with a location.

This is why photos of seniors shot at their high school football field or photos of kids on the swings in their yard are so powerful.

What if I don’t have any location ideas?

I will be happy to make location suggests. I have several favorite go to locations I have used previously and I always have locations that I have been looking for the chance to shoot at.

Keep in mind a location can be as simple as your back yard or front porch or the local playground.

Do you charge travel expenses?

If a location requires significant travel time I may require that a client pay my travel expenses.

If travel expenses are necessary I will always make clients aware of the expense in our discussions about the client’s session so they can make informed choices about hiring my services.
